Springfield — There weren’t many college pitchers better than Drifters right-hander Jack Klee this weekend, as the Chemeketa product threw his first career shutout on Saturday for the Storm. Klee, who pitched for the Drifters last summer and will return this year, only allowed three hits across nine scoreless innings with a season high eight strikeouts against Umpqua Community College on Thursday. The Southridge High School graduate now has a 2.31ERA through four appearances and three starts this season.

Up the road in Eugene, future Drifters Lucas Geren and Griffin Scott shined for Lane Community College. Geren struck out seven batters with only one hit and one walk allowed through six scoreless innings against Southwestern Oregon Community College.  Scott shoved for 5.2 innings against Clackamas, allowing no runs, one hit, and striking out four.

Another addition to the Drifters’ pitching staff this summer is Kennan Anzai from UC Davis, whom we highlighted last week. Anzai had another amazing outing for the Aggies, striking out seven batters in six innings of one-run baseball against UC Riverside. 

At the plate, several Drifters alums had big weekends. In Portland, Nolan Miller (2024 & 2025) finished with a team-high eight RBIs while going 6-for-14 at the plate with a home run and a double for the Pilots. Miller, a graduate of Sheldon High School in Eugene, currently leads Portland with 14 RBIs on the season and is second on the Pilots squad with 17 hits.

In the Midwest, Dominic Hellman (2022) and Jack Brooks (2025) helped propel the Oregon Ducks to a series victory against Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana. Hellman finished 7-for-15 on the weekend with two doubles, three RBIs, and smacked his fourth home run of the season, while Brooks belted his first career home run during a 3-for-6 weekend at the plate. 

Elsewhere in the Big-10, Mac Moyer (2022) racked up nine hits with three doubles and four RBIs in five games for Nebraska against Omaha, South Dakota State, and Michigan State.

Other notable accomplishments this week include Preston Armstrong (2025) hitting his first career home run for Seattle University, Hunter Myer (2026) going 2-for-4 as a true freshman against #1 UCLA and Diego Vazquez reaching base safely in 11 of 16 plate appearances, going 4-for-9 at the dish with seven walks, two doubles and five RBIs for Fullerton College.
