Less than two months remain before the Springfield Drifters kick off their fourth summer at Hamlin Sports Complex.
The Drifters open the West Coast League schedule with an eight-game homestand beginning on May 30 against Walla Walla. After three games against the Sweets, Springfield hosts Bend on June 3-5 followed by two games against the Northwest Star Nighthawks.
Springfield has 32 home games on its 59-game schedule and season tickets are available for as low as $180.
“We can’t wait to welcome our fans back for another fun summer of Drifters baseball,” new Springfield General Manager Barry Bokn said. “We are bringing some exciting new promotions to Hamlin for what promises to be our best season yet.”
In addition to Bend, the Drifters will host a couple other in-state rivals as the Portland Pickles arrive June 13-15 and Corvallis wraps up the home schedule August 1-3. Three postgame fireworks shows are scheduled for June 14, July 3, and July 26.
Eugene native Jeff Lyle takes over as head coach with former Oregon assistant Dean Stiles and Willamette High graduate Matt Hubbs on his staff.
Springfield will feature a handful of local stars including Thurston senior pitcher Connor Molony, who will play at Oregon next year. Marist graduate Kaden Starr and Sheldon’s Nolan Miller, who both play for the University of Portland, return to the Drifters this season along with infielder Cooper Mullens, a Marist graduate playing at Michigan.
Bushnell pitcher Blake Stavros, a Willamette High grad, joins the club along with outfielder Jeremy Comer, a junior-college transfer who will join the Ducks next season.
General admission season tickets are $180 while reserved seats are $250 and can be purchased at https://tickets.driftersbaseball.com/.
For fans who want a special outing at the ballpark, Drifters Party Decks are available for every home game. That package, which costs $1,500, includes 30 game tickets with seating in a private covered deck area as well as pizza and drinks for each guest. Groups will also receive two announcements over the public address system during the game.
The Drifters are also seeking families that want to host a player during the summer.
As always, the club will focus on helping local kids throughout the summer by providing free admission for children 12 years and under to home games, food vouchers, and scholarships to the Drifters Academy baseball camps.
