There are various programs, but most internships will begin working with us in February and continue through August. There are a wide variety of opportunities. Our season runs from June to August. We will have weekly office hours, and interns will be encouraged to participate during our preseason and in-season front-office meetings and community events. The season includes a minimum of 32 home games and additional stadium events.
Attendance at these events is recommended for a successful internship experience. Each intern will have an area of focus during their internship; however, as we are a small baseball club, everyone will be part of the team and need to be flexible. Every internship will provide real-world experience and marketable skills.
The Springfield Drifters internship program offers experience to the sports business world. Starting in February, during our pre-season is when the projects begin. In-season roles offer game day experiences, as well as business operations, marketing, sales, promotion, hospitality, analytics skill development and more. The Drifters internship requires individuals who are committed to teamwork, have the ability to think critically, who are creative, committed, and enthusiastic. Our interns will develop real-world business skills, practical experience, and they will make key contacts (build your network).
