SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Drifters are proud to announce our 2026 schedule following the West Coast League’s announcement this morning.
This upcoming summer, the Drifters will host 29 wood-bat baseball games — including 27 WCL league games — at Hamlin Sports Complex for another summer of unforgettable family fun entertainment.
“I’m super excited for our schedule to be released,” Assistant General Manager Jasmine Williams said. “We did so many great things last summer, and I can’t wait to build on that and create another summer of unforgettable memories for our local community in 2026.”
The 2026 season gets started on May 29 with the Drifters on the road in Bend for a three-game series versus the Elks at Vince Genna Stadium.
After the weekend trip to central Oregon, Springfield returns home for their home opener against the Yakima Valley Pippins on Tuesday, June 2, at Hamlin Sports Complex.
The Drifters will remain at home that weekend for a three-game series versus the defending WCL Champions — the Bellingham Bells. This will be the first of five weekend series being played at Hamlin this summer.
Starting on June 12, the Drifters will play three games in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, against the HarbourCats at Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park. The trip to Vancouver Island will be a first for the Drifters and just their second trip north of the border in five seasons. Springfield traveled to Edmonton in 2024 for a three-game series against the Riverhawks, winning two of three games in Alberta’s capital city. Victoria previously traveled to Springfield in 2022 during the Drifters’ inaugural season, with the Drifters winning the first two games of the series against the HarbourCats.
“I think it’s really exciting to get to go to Canada this year,” Williams said. “It’s not something we get to do every year, so this will be an awesome opportunity for our players to travel and play in a different country.”
Coming home from Canada, the Drifters will play a pair of non-league games before hosting the well-known Portland Pickles for a highly anticipated three-game series during Father’s Day weekend, June 19-21.
Springfield will have six straight games on the road before returning for a three-game home stand against the Marion Berries — Salem’s new WCL team — starting on June 30. This will be the first of three series against the Berries. The unique scheduling of three series against the Berries was caused by the folding of the Cowlitz Black Bears, who will not play in the WCL after 15 seasons in Longview, Washington.
The Drifters will be on the road for this Fourth of July as Springfield travels north to face the 10-time WCL Champion Corvallis Knights for a three-game series against “The Evil Empire,” beginning July 3.
Former Springfield Drifters assistant coach Leo Rivera will return to Hamlin as the manager of the Walla Walla Sweets on July 7. The Drifters will play six games at home that week, with a rematch versus the Knights scheduled for July 10, 11 and 12 before the WCL All-Star Break.
The WCL All-Star Game will take place on July 15 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Bellingham previously hosted the last two All-Star Games in 2024 and 2025, following the game’s revitalization two summers ago, which ended a brief hiatus that began after the 2019 contest.
After the All-Star break, the Drifters will be on the road for three of their next four series with a homestand against the Marion Berries scheduled for July 24, 25 and 26.
The last road series of the year will be in Yakima at the end of July before the Drifters return home for their final six games at Hamlin Sports Complex, beginning against the Ridgefield Raptors on July 31. The Drifters will host the Bend Elks on August 5th for their final regular-season game.
WCL playoffs are slated to begin August 7 with the championship scheduled for August 13.
